Are you looking to relocate to Oregon?

There are lots of great reasons to move your family to OR State!

Forming the foundation of the Pacific Northwest corner of United States, Oregon has transformed from a largely rural populous to a thriving urban metropolis. While much of Oregon remains charming logging towns and farming communities, the area along the I-5 corridor has seen explosive growth in the last 25 years.

Why are all these people choosing Oregon as their new home?

The answer is livability and diversity. There is something for everyone. While there is still seasons with some extreme weather, for the most part the weather is mild compared to the East Coast or Mid-west. So if you like skiing, Mt. Hood has some runs open almost year-round. But if you love the ocean, the Oregon coast has amazing whale watching and fresh seafood. Oregon boasts something for everyone from giant sand-dunes for your four-wheeler to mountain lakes to hike around, to high deserts where the star gazing is unparalleled.

The Most of Oregon’s Northern border is formed by the Columbia River. The mighty Columbia is the second longest in the US and offers boating of every kind, and the windsurfing is world famous. But that’s not all Oregon is known for. That list would include, it’s largest city, Portland, which is known for being weird, and proud of it.

Portland hosts many boutique stores and farm-to-table restaurants but perhaps is most famous for its iconic coffee shops and microbreweries. One of Portland’s nick names is “Bridge City” because the Willamette River runs down the center of Portland providing many opportunities to bike or drive across its iconic bridges. No visit to “P-town” would be complete without a visit to the Oregon Zoo, or the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), the Native American art in the Portland Art Museum, the Japanese Garden and the Lan Su Chinese Garden.

Portland is also called RIP city because of their NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers, who won the national championship twice. They also have a professional soccer team, The Timbers.

Higher education is a must and Oregon is proud of its state colleges, OSU (Beavers) and U of O (Ducks). They‘re also home to many private colleges like George Fox University and Reed College.

It’s home to international industry like Nike, Adidas, Intel any many ultra creative companies like Will Vinton Studios. However, one of the more recent industries to make a home in Oregon is the film and TV industry. Oregon houses a few of the locations from the Twilight movies and Astoria Oregon is the location of the famed Goonies movies. More recent productions include Grimm and Portlandia.

Perhaps the biggest historical claim to fame is the Oregon Trail which brought settlers out West and inspired the video game by that name. More recent video creation in Oregon is done by Soma Games who are licensed to produce games in the universe of Redwall by Brian Jacques which seem destined to set records the first week of its release.
